I premi Golden Satellite stanno acquistando negli ultimi anni prestigio sempre maggiore, nonostate spesso le loro scelte si rivelino non in linea con quelle dell'Oscar.
Diverse esclusioni, quest'anno, sono inattese (soprattutto quelle di Nicole Kidman e Renée Zellweger per Ritorno a Cold Mountain); ma, per ora, vanno prese per quello che sono: scelte di nicchia o di tendenza.
